Smith Pump Company has an opening for a qualified technician to serve the position of Field Serviceman.

Smith Pump Company is a leading supplier and manufacturer of pump products and services for the water, wastewater, and industrial markets in Texas and Oklahoma. Since 1962, the Company has been providing products and services to these industries in a friendly and professional manner.

Pump inspection, mobile pump service truck, bridge and motor crane operation, pump removal, pump installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

TRAVEL: ≈ 75%

SCOPE, SUPERVISION, AND INTERACTION:

Inspect pumps for cause of failure. Operate pump service trucks and motor cranes. Remove and install large and small water and wastewater pumps. Perform equipment startup functions. Prepare field reports.
 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Required

 Five (5) years of job experience as a field serviceman and/or five (5) years of job experience running service equipment.

 Skilled at leadership, organization, people interaction, problem solving, and customer service.

 Experience operating forklift and bridge crane.

 High school diploma or GED

 Strong Verbal and Written Communication

 The ability to maintain good relationships with employees and customers.

• Preferred

 Five (5) years of job experience working in the area of pump field service and/or pump repairs.

 OSHA 10 Certification

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pump troubleshooting

• Pump shop teardown, inspection, report, and repair

• Maintaining and repairing tools and equipment

• Read, understand, and follow written instructions.

• Listen, understand, and follow verbal instructions.

• The field serviceman job is physically demanding and requires the ability to stand for most of a workday. Strength requirements are the ability to handle weights and forces of 100 lbs or more.

WAGE: Up to $25 / HR
