Shop Services.
Smith Pump Company is a diverse organization built to
handle most any shop process required in the pump business.
REPAIR
Smith Pump Company has the personnel, experience, machine tools, and shop facilities to teardown, inspect, evaluate, recommend, and repair most centrifugal, volute, or diffuser pump.
FABRICATION
The fabrication shop is equipped with the torching, sawing, shearing, punching, and grinding equipment to fabricate just about any carbon steel or stainless steel fabricated pump component. Component alignment and weld-up fixtures make the process productive and efficient. There are numerous MIG welding machines within the large fabrication shop to weld these fabrications by certified welders.
BLASTING
The grit blast facility can handle small to very large objects that require removal of paint, corrosion, or scale for clean-up or in surface preparation for coating.
MACHINING
Smith Pump’s Waco machine shop is fully equipped with lathes, mills, and dynamic balancing equipment to perform turning, boring, facing, and drilling operations on most size pump components. The personnel that staff the machine shop are experienced in all of these operations.
COATING
Epoxy and enamel coatings are applied in the Paint Sop in a temperature controlled environment throughout the year.
The Fort Worth facility is equipped with the ovens, winders, dip tanks, and equipment to teardown, inspect, and rewind small to medium size AC induction motors. This EASA shop is certified by Factory Mutual and Underwriters Laboratories.
CONTROL PANEL SHOP
The Waco facility is equipped with our own control panel shop that is capable of building custom control panels of all sizes.
Regardless of location, Smith Pump Co. has a dedicated field service staff of individuals
with years of experience.
TESTING
Field hydraulic performance testing and vibration testing services are available.
INSPECTION
Smith Pump personnel are trained to evaluate pump installations, and report on the condition of the pump and/or motor.
START-UP
We perform field start-ups of small and large pumps.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Root cause determination of troubled pump and control installations by qualified personnel is available.
INSTALLATION & REMOVAL
Some pump installations / removals can be quite complicated. Smith Pump has the rig truck, crane trucks, tools and rigging to perform these functions.
